Plough Inn Hildenborough Wedding | Katie & David
Katie and David had a beautiful Plough Inn Hildenborough Wedding in the gorgeous 17thCentury barn. They had created a real vintage vibe by the twinkling fairy lights and exposed beams of the barn.
It was a theme that was only accentuated by the lace and pearls. Katie wore these so elegantly as she walked down the aisle. With the colour of the day being lilac, David the groom, wore this highlight colour in the way of his cravat. More of these beautiful lilac highlights were littered throughout the wedding. From the flowers, to the cake and even the wedding favours.
As a photographer, I spend a lot of time playing with light. The soft light that streamed in through the windows of the barn wedding. It highlighted the couple was definitely a photographer’s dream. After the ceremony, everyone headed outside to the gardens of this Plough Inn Hildenborough Wedding. It had the perfect backdrop for group and couple photographs, with its weeping willow and wooden fences.
I always want to capture some fantastic portraits of the bride and groom. But I never like keeping the couple away from their guests for too long. So I broke their wedding portraits into three smaller intervals. First after the group photos, a few later on as the golden afternoon sunshine settled in. Then a few more after the sun had set. This not only makes it more manageable for weddings that never exactly run to the clock. It creates a variety of photos for their wedding album due to the different lighting throughout the day. And who wants to be stuck in some hour-long photo session and not see their guests at all?!
David, the groom who is half Maltese (just like myself) loves vintage cars. The newlyweds took a spin after the ceremony in a navy-blue Rolls Royce. Why should he miss out on experiencing the timeless luxury of motoring history!
On their return, they enjoyed their wedding breakfast and next came the speeches. Usually some of the funniest moments throughout a wedding. Kieran, David’s son and the Best Man, did some of the most original gags I have ever seen before. Towards the end of his speech he asked the ladies to stand up and place their hands together above their heads. Then asked the men to stand up with their hands apart above their heads. ‘Ok’ everyone was thinking!? Kieran then took out his mobile and took a photo of the scene. He said he was going to show his mates that his speech was such a success that he got a standing ovation and a round of applause!
With stunning and thoughtful little touches like the creative table lighting and a great play area to keep the kids happy. Katie and David’s big day was a dream to be a part of.
