Bermondsey Yard Café Wedding | Yonsin & Mike
I think these first few photos on this wedding sums up Yonsin and Mike’s Bermondsey Yard Café Wedding. I found it outrageously fun, cheeky and I really couldn’t get enough of it!
Yonsin and Mike were married before this celebration in Bermondsey SE1, but the excitement was still palpable. There is something about having a wedding in the equivalent of your own backyard, that being London. The wedding ceremony was outdoors with a backdrop onto the Shard. Golden pineapples lined the aisle and the drinks and laughs were already running strong.
Even though it was September, we were lucky with the weather, even if it was a little cloudy. Bermondsey Yard Café (The Bermondsey Bar & Kitchen) is pretty unique as it is set up in a disused car park and pretty much set-up for all types of weather. There is a fairly open aired section you can make your own and a covered decking area complimented by an outdoor bar. While inside, everything has been stripped back and it feels quite industrial, but there is some great contrast with its cool furniture and lighting. It feels like that type of place you would find in the cool parts of Hackney rather than someone so central.
The restaurant space indoors is perfect for those eye-watering speeches. When I think back to this wedding I must say I nearly missed that lovely little ‘doodle’ on the back on Mike’s speech. Boys will be Boys, haha I thought it was a total laugh! There is a first time for everything and this was one of those weddings. There is more than enough space inside to rock out to and also to have a band inside as they did. No one left early at this wedding. When can I do it all again!
